Welcome to South Mitcham Community Association

Dear SMCA Friends

Change to SMCA’s Covid-19 Risk Requirement’s From 9 May 2022

At its meeting on 9 May 2022 the board agreed to remove SMCA’s Covid-19 restrictions with immediate effect. This is welcome news.  In practice this means:

•             We will continue to provide hand sanitiser and encourage everyone to use it.

•             We will continue to maintain good ventilation, keeping windows and doors open subject to weather conditions and security considerations.

•             Wearing a mask in the building will now be a matter of personal choice.

•             The temporary limit on numbers of people permitted in each room has been lifted.

While the easing of restrictions will be welcomed by many, we know that some people may still be feeling more apprehensive than others. We have a number of elderly and vulnerable people using the community centre. To help keep the community centre safe for everyone we ask that you do not enter the community centre if you have recently tested positive for Covid-19 or if you are showing the symptoms associated with Covid-19.

Throughout the pandemic we maintained a Covid-19 free environment.  It is important that we work together to keep it that way.  It is up to us all to respect others’ concerns and to take personal responsibility for acting in a way that helps to keep each other safe.

We thank you for your cooperation in the past and now.
